KuKup Laut , very unique and a century old fishing village built entirely on stilts on the sea surrounded by water , is the southmost village found at the southwest village tip of the Peninsular of West Malaysia , and suppose to be the southmost village found in the Continental of Asia.Located from Pontian , Kukup Laut has only one road to access by land .

Proceed to Kukup, it’s a fishing village built on stilts and located in Pontian district in Johor Bahru. You will get a great view of the villages built on water.

Pulau Kukup National Park is one of the largest uninhabited mangrove forests in the world.The island was declared a “Wetland of International Importance” by RAMSAR in 2003, aimed at preserving the natural beauty of the island. It is home to an abundance of flora and fauna, including monkeys, wild boars and mudskippers all of which are visible from the boardwalk. A scenic, easy walk through the forest culminates in five levels of elevated platforms, giving you a bird’s-eye view of the island in its entirety.

Climbing the Aery will give you a scenic view of the surrounding vista. There is a 30 meter-tall, a six-storey tower at the end of the boardwalk. At the sixth level of the tower, you will enjoy the quiet and peaceful view of the island, treetops and neighboring islands.

The 800 meter-long boardwalk allows you to cover the entire Pulau Kukup – Johor National Park. The boardwalk takes visitors around the eastern part of the island, allowing them to observe the diverse vegetation and mangrove life.

After Lunch, there are a number of shops in the town center where you can do simple shopping for your stay in Kukup. Most of the shops in the main street sell local products at reasonable prices. Some of the items you can buy include belacan, ikan bilis, and salted fish. All these products are fresh and of good quality.

Then transfer to AEON Tebrau City Shopping.

Dinner at JB Seafood Restaurant.

Return to Singapore…

The natural ecosystem of the island serves as a great lesson for kids bringing them close to nature.
